Geoboard Inquiry

Start out by constructing regions with 4 pegs on the boundary and different numbers in the interior. Make a table of the area. Continue doing this for shapes with other numbers on the boundary, such as B=5, B=6, …..Can you form a hypothesis of a formula for the area on the basis of B and I?
